Yoga for body and mind
In this course we will be exploring the deeper practices of yoga and
integrating them with our practice of postures. Yoga, after all, is
a lifestyle and our practice on the mat is a training ground for life
itself. With this in mind, we will discover how the breathing
practices, stretches and postures, ethical practices and especially
the practice of concentration and mindfulness enhance our everyday
wellness and emotional stability. Yoga has taught us to strengthen
the muscles of our body. Join with friends in this class to learn
to strengthen the "muscles" of the mind through the practice of
dharana, dhyana and samadhi, the culminating stages of the yoga
life. These deeper meditative techniques open us to the bliss and
happiness promised by all the yoga masters.
